Melissa Bohac
Melissa has been a certified Physician Assistant working in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery for over 25 years. She attended Wilkes College for her undergraduate studies, and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, anticipating a career in medicine. She found research to be exciting and challenging, and following graduation, Melissa worked at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia as a research technician doing several investigative studies. She then advanced as a research specialist in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics where she studied oncogenes and genetic cloning.
While she enjoyed the research, the University, and Philadelphia, Melissa knew she belonged in Medicine. She left research and attended Hahnemann University School of Allied Health Sciences Physician Assistant Program and completed her Bachelor’s degree as a Physician Assistant in 21 months. She received the Stephen J. Batzer award for academic and clinical excellence. Melissa works in both clinical and operative settings, and enjoys the diversity of patients and treatments in Plastic and Reconstructive surgery. Her primary interest is that of non-invasive cosmetic procedures.
She is a skilled injector of neurotoxins such as Botox and Xeomin, as well as soft tissue fillers such as Restylane, Juvederm, and Radiesse. She has had extensive training in the use of multiple lasers and continues to update her skills annually. She works closely with surgeons to further enhance their outcomes with additional non-invasive treatments such as facial skin resurfacing, soft tissue augmentation, and appropriate skin care regimens. Married in 1992 to her husband Stephen, they enjoy gardening, music, travel, and their nieces and nephew. A self-proclaimed “foodie and wine enthusiast,” Melissa loves to cook and feed friends and family.
